A band featuring four veteran heavy-hitters of British and American hard rock, Black Country Communion are rooted in an alliance between bassist/vocalist Glenn Hughes (Deep Purple) and blues-rock guitarist Joe Bonamassa. At the suggestion of engineer and producer Kevin Shirley, journeyman drummer Jason Bonham and keyboardist Derek Sherinian (Dream Theater) were invited to join, and both obliged. The quartet recorded its first album during early 2010 and had it issued that September on J&R Adventures. Upon release, it charted in the U.K. Top 20 and the U.S. Top 60. The band quickly got to work on writing material for a second album and plotted a 2011 tour. The resulting 2, which reunited the group with producer Shirley, arrived that June. In 2012 the band released its first concert album, Live Over Europe.

The recently launched by Thames / Thompson DVD "Not For The Pro's" is intended to improve the situation and, in our view, correct it with a vengeance, becoming a kind of triumph of justice for Ian. This work is so comprehensively covers various aspects of the impact of skill that after reviewing it can only shrug - to add to what they see like it is nothing.
The disc name can be translated as "not for professionals." Personally, I find it hard to judge how DVD will be of interest to specialists, but I am convinced of one thing: a number of completely unique shooting may serve this master class, even for trained musicians. So, about the content. The introductory part - a 50-minute story of Ian Pace on manufacturing components Drum Kit - cymbals, sticks, drums of all shapes and sizes. Very educational film in the style of the channel "Discovery". Before seeing the film, I could imagine about the manufacturing process except drumsticks, but a report from the factory was a revelation to me. Ian further demonstrates some features of the installation of equipment and features several playing techniques for beginning drummers and by giving its recommendations. A separate chapter - an autobiographical story, accompanied by good visuals, including previously unknown footage from concerts third of Deep Purple and performances in the Sydney 1984 year. Separately presented gourmet jams, recorded at Abbey Road Studios with Colin Hodgkinson (Colin Hodgkinson) and Miller Anderson (Miller Anderson).
