BSAlcatrazz – No BSParole From BSRock ‘N’ Roll (+5 Bonus Live)

 Alcatrazz was formed by Graham Bonnet, ex singer of Rainbow and MSG. He recruited young Swedish axeman Yngwie J. Malmsteen, who was a member of Steeler, two ex members of New England and drummer Jan Uvena (ex-Alice Cooper). When you look at the line-up, expectations runs high. Unfortunately, Alcatrazz just can´t deliever the goods. Lyrics are bland, Bonnet is not at the top of the game, I like him better as a vocalist for Rainbow, songs are far from good, except for "Island In the Sun", which is only potential hit from the album. The only thing that saves the day is Malmsteen guitar playing with some nice neo-classical influence, but apart from that, No Parole From R´N´R is average metal record and if you need to have something from Alcatrazz, the best choice is some compilation.
