Recorded between 1977 and 1996. Includes liner notes by Hugh Gilmour. Even though there have been numerous Motorhead best of's, live collections, and box sets issued, more and more crop up each year. 2000's OVER THE TOP is a rarities collection of sorts, featuring 12 tracks of alternate takes, B-sides, and other forgotten numbers.


Highlights include the infamous 1981 UK hit "Please Don't Touch" (which was a collaboration between Motorhead and the all-female metal band Girlschool), an alternate take of "Over the Top," plus covers of "Train Kept A Rollin'" and "Louie Louie." Although most of these tracks are included on the late-90's remastered versions of Motorhead's early CD catalogue, longtime fans will enjoy having them all on a single disc.
